Top 10 Reasons to Stage Your Colorado Wedding at the Wine Country Inn

When choosing your Colorado wedding venue, few will match the romance and prestige of getting married in a vineyard. Here are the top 10 reasons to choose the Wine Country Inn for exchanging your vows:

1)Breathtaking views. We are surrounded by mesas of all shapes and sizes. Looming in front of the inn are the dun-colored bluffs of the Book Cliffs, also known as the Palisades through town. The Bookcliffs form many different pillars, boulders and hoodoos that balance in seemingly impossible positions. On top of the Bookcliffs roams a herd of federally-protected wild mustangs. It’s possible to visit them and see this symbol of the West. The Bookcliffs culminates in Mount Garfield, an icon of the Grand Valley, majestically rising above our vineyards. To the east lie the verdant evergreen slopes of the Grand Mesa, largest flattop mountain in the world, and home to many great activities such as skiing, hiking, fishing and horse back riding. (No fall trip to the mesa would be complete without a drive to see the changing aspen leaves). To the South are the red sandstone formations of the Colorado National Monument. You can visit all these mesas, since they are interlaced with a variety of hike-able and bike-able trails. We are proud of our scenery, which provides a photogenic setting and frames the orchards and vineyards on the valley floor. There is a rustic charm to our agricultural setting. You will be surrounded by our 21-acre Mount Lincoln Vineyard. The changing seasons brings something different to our inn. The fruit trees blossom in the early spring, our grapes hang heavy on the vines at harvest time, while the grape leaves turn red and orange in late fall.

2)Victorian surroundings. Both the town and the hotel have a 19th Century grace. Scattered throughout the town, fine old Victorian houses are still home to local families, although a few have converted to picturesque bed and breakfast lodging. The main business center, where Main and Fifth Streets intersect, has a quintessential small town feel. There are restaurants, an antique store/coffee shop, an art gallery, the newspaper, bicycle shop, bank offices, the Chamber of Commerce and a grocery store. Some are housed in historic old buildings. Not far from the core are the historic First Baptist Church and a unique onion-domed First Methodist Church. As for our inn, we designed it specifically to fit into the culture and history of Palisade. The design mirrors clusters of farm buildings so common at the turn of the century. Besides working vines that surround the property, wrap-around porches, wicker furniture and rockers, a Pergola and Pavilion with beautifully landscaped patio and pool complete the welcoming ambiance that lends itself so well to outdoor weddings and celebrations.

3)Beautiful interiors. We have filled our lobby with tastefully appointed furniture, area rugs, historic photographs of Palisade, a soaring atrium and chandelier and a grand fireplace. Everywhere there are windows, allowing light to spill into the public spaces, making our lobby bright and cheerful. It’s an elegant setting with cachet, giving your guests a memorable visit for your big day.

Our hotel rooms are decorated in burgundy and gold, with soft bedding, chairs and ottomans, restored old photographs, as well as a unique sliding “barn door” for our closets and bathrooms. (It’s part of our farm house theme). There’s granite counters and shower surrounds in the bathrooms, and all the little amenities you’ve come to expect from a high end hotel stay. You’ll enjoy the convenience of an iron and ironing board, microwave and refrigerator, coffee pot and a work table or writing desk. This is complemented by the latest high tech touches: a flat panel television, high speed Internet DSL and wireless Wi Fi. We are a 100 percent smoke free inn, so you won’t have to worry about unpleasant and unhealthy odors on the premises. ADA compliant rooms are available in both the Guest House and Vintner’s House.

For room upgrades, we have patio king rooms, with your own private porch facing the pool for your immediate family and V.I.P. guests. The bridal party can rent its own private two story cottage, the Vintner House, ideal for showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, honeymoons and getting ready for the big day. Flanked by King and Double Queen bedrooms. our Clubroom suites offer a fully equipped kitchen, living area with large flat panel TV, dining area and a powder room . You can rent some of the rooms, or all of them, depending on the size of your party and what you have planned, creating a large gathering place for your family and friends.

We have a shampoo sink and large mirrored vanity in the Rose Room, where you and your bridesmaids can get ready before your wedding ceremony. Bring in your own stylist and use the facility as your own private salon. We can even arrange private massages for a spa treatment to help you calm those frayed nerves. There is a corresponding Sage room on the second floor that could accommodate the groom and groomsmen, or operate as a place for card games.

4)Nearby wineries. Any wedding in Colorado should be graced with the romance and pleasure of wine. We are adjacent to two wineries, Grande River Vineyards and St. Kathryn Cellars, both a short walk from our front door. The Wine Country Inn resides in the epicenter of Colorado’s Wine Country. Palisade is the birthplace of our wine industry. Drive the Colorado Wine Trail on Orchard Mesa to over a dozen wineries and sample our local vintages. Plus, we are proud of our agricultural heritage. Fruit stands dot the valley floor. All summer long, Palisade hosts a farmer’s market on the weekends, with produce, artists and musicians. In August, sample our world-famous Palisade peaches, Olathe sweet corn, as well as apricots, plums and plumcots. In September, it’s harvest time. Any wine tasting will be enhanced by a stop for fresh squash, Southwestern chilies, or other fresh produce for your guests to take home as unique souvenirs. Or sample grapes right off the vines.

5)Favorable weather. June is the most popular month for weddings, followed by August, September, October and May. Fortunately, the weather is decent in Palisade during all of these months. Weddings in Colorado are graced with fine weather for most of the year. According to Best Places.net, the Grand Valley enjoys 260 sunny days per year. Our mild springs and falls are why people move to the area, suffused with pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunlight. We are a high mountain desert oasis, with a dry climate and very little precipitation. This means you can set your rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions outdoors in our landscaped courtyard and enjoy sunny days and pleasant evenings.

6)We're flexible. Let us sweat the small stuff. In the event of inclement weather, we can create a beautiful chapel right in lobby with its soaring ceilings and flood of natural light. We have a variety of function space including our Vineyard Ballroom, Orchard Room, Tasting Room, poolside courtyard with its pergola, wrap-around porches and beautiful plantings, or the Pavilion that sits adjacent to actual producing vines. Our pre-function area outside the Vineyard Ballroom easily can handle buffets or cocktail setup. Our Executive Chef and Catering staff can tailor your menu for buffet or plated service. Our portable bars can be set up inside or out, depending on your function and preference.

7)We're affordable. TopWeddingLinks.com says the average traditional wedding in the U.S. costs $20,000 - $25.000. We are confident our pricing is some of the best in the Grand Valley. We will work with you to accommodate your budget.

Ninety nine percent of all couples who get married go on a honeymoon, while couples spend an average of $5,000 on their honeymoon. Why not start your honeymoon off right (and at far less cost) at our inn? We are a day trips away from Telluride, Aspen and Vail, as well as the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.

8)We’re comprehensive. You can plan your entire event in one place, reducing the driving time and confusion for your guests. You don’t want to spend one of the biggest days of your life sweating logistics. Your shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and “day after” breakfast -- we can handle it all in one contract.

9)Professional staff. Our managers, chef and catering staff have years of experience. Relax, we’ve done this before. We can guide you through this trying process, helping you with the logistics, pricing and etiquette of your wedding. We will work with you and help you manage your vineyard wedding.

10)Attention to detail. Confucius once said that success depends on previous preparation. We have contracts, procedures, preferred vendor lists and plenty of advice to make the build up to your big day a thorough process. During your wedding events, we will take care of the little bumps and rough edges that occasionally arise. Let us worry about the little things; you focus on your family and friends, build memories to last a lifetime and celebrate the joy of tying the knot.

So remember, Colorado wedding venues are a dime a dozen. But few will be as unique, authentic, relaxing and pleasant as our Wine Country Inn. Call us at 888-855- 8330 for more details.
