Construction is Complete!

Palisade, CO. Construction is underway at Wine County Inn to expand the current hotel ballroom and to add a state-of-the-art kitchen expansion as well as a new Caroline’s Restaurant space.

Slated to coincide with the Inn’s 10th Anniversary celebration, the new Caroline’s will open the week of August 1. Food service in the existing restaurant and Tapestry Lounge are not expected to be interrupted except for a short period when utility services are connected to the existing kitchen. Ample notice will be given before the construction tie-in, assures Ian Kelley, General Manager.

Completion of the enlarged Vineyard Ballroom will allow the Inn to accommodate seated dinners for up to 200 guests.

“We expect the ballroom renovation to yield sales that we previously had to turn away because of our limited capacity,” explains Kelley. “We already are seeing increased inquiries for events although we have made no formal announcements.”

Sales Manager Saunders Stewart, is thrilled to see a muted palatte that will be compatible with most event color schemes. The addition of two adjacent family restrooms will be an added convenience.

“The ivory-on-ivory brocade wall covering is elegant and totally in keeping with our Victorian deĢcor. Our brides are going to be very pleased,” she adds. “And opening out onto our beautifully landscaped courtyard is an added bonus.”

The New Vineyard Ballroom will be completed by April 1, just in time to host Edesia: A Palisade Culinary, Wine & Spirits Adventure” on April 8 to benefit Marillac Health.

Caroline’s Restaurant will move into a newly constructed space on the North East corner of the Reception Building. Although seating capacity will be expanded, the restaurant will replicate many of the features of the existing restaurants.

Kelley explains that windows on the North and West will offer views of the Vineyards and Little Bookcliffs, and the entry near the hotel entrance will allow guests direct access into the restaurant.

The existing Caroline’s will revert to its original meeting room function and name of the Orchard Room. With the new kitchen situated between Caroline’s and the Vineyard Ballroom, the culinary team will have a more efficient arrangement to serve events and restaurant guests
